What is the sign-up process for?
Many Everlink Financial Services clients have a need to exchange information with Everlink.
Some clients may prefer to have a dedicated connection to Everlink for this exchange.
Other clients may find a dedicated connection to be unfeasible or too inflexible.
To meet the needs of those clients who do not want to implement a dedicated connection
to Everlink for data exchange, Everlink offers an Internet access to exchange this data using HTTP
(usually through web browser to web server communications). To enable these clients
to securely access their data, Everlink has established a sign up process that will provide
secure communications and authentication of the identity of client users.
Once this sign up process is complete, Everlink clients will be able to enter secure areas
of the web site to enable the retrieval and sending of relevant data and information.
How are secure communications provided through this process?
The client can be assured that data exchanged with the web server will be heavily
encrypted, checked for integrity, and that the data being exchanged is with the proper web
server (to prevent another entity trying to impersonate the Everlink web server). Also,
Everlink will be able to identify the client and ensure that the client is who they say they
are through a unique identifier and password.
The secure communications are implemented using an advanced form of security employed
on the Internet using method called Secure Sockets Layer or SSL. The normal form of
this implementation uses public key encryption along with certificates. The
advanced level of 128 bit encryption will be used for North American clients to provide
the highest allowed level of encryption. These two techniques are the same as is used on
the Internet to provide secure communications for Internet banking.
How do I begin the process?
To begin the sign-up process, start with the first step - the Prerequisite Check. You can click on the hyperlink
in the previous sentence to move to that page.
Can I use multiple computers to get access?
As long as alternative computer systems conform to the Prerequisite
Check items, you can use other systems with your unique identifier and password.
What if I have problems using the service?
If you encounter problems with this Everlink web site, you can contact the Everlink National Call
Centre (NCC), which provides support seven days/week, twenty-four hours/day. However, if
you encounter problems such as difficulty in connecting to your own Internet Service
Provider (ISP), you must contact your ISP for problem resolution.
What if I lose things associated with this process?
If you lose your identifier and password for verifying your certificate identity,
please contact your Everlink Account Manager. They will verify your identity and
then issue you a new password.
